Man wanted for sexual assaulting minor in Somerton

Police say a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in broad daylight when a man threatened her life if she didn’t cooperate.

Police are looking for a 17-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Somerton.

The incident happened Sept. 6 at noon on the 13000 block of Cardella Place. Police say the unknown black male approached the girl from behind, placed his hand over her mouth and stated, “If you scream, I’ll kill you.”

Capt. Sekou Kinebrew said the man forced her into a gated residential yard on the same block where he sexually assaulted her.

Police describe him as standing 6 feet tall and weighing 155–165 pounds with a slim build, crooked nose and short black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt with orange writing on the front and grey sweatpants.
